Another season begins – Easter at Whitby | EDITORIAL
Easter is almost upon us and no doubt like us, many of you have been busy prepping your scooters ready for the ride to Whitby. Or at least we would have if we hadn’t been writing stuff to keep you lot occupied on here.
Never mind, I’m sure our vintage steeds will be good to us. Personally I’ve ridden to every Easter National Scooter Rally (except for one) since the Isle of Wight at Easter in 1988. It doesn’t matter how many times I do it though I still feel that excitement as the weekend gets closer. I still get that buzz as we ride off to meet up with our loony friends for a group thrash to the coast. The waft of exotic lubricants filling the air, like a Bisto gravy trail to the seaside. Safe in the knowledge that we’ll be meeting up with plenty more life-long friends when we get there and no doubt be making a few new ones as well. That’s the beauty of scooter riding, no matter which facet you’re involved in, be it rallies, ride outs, racing, sprinting or just riding one for your own pleasure there are always plenty of like-minded people to share your experiences with.
Talking of sharing, at ScooterLab we like to know what you’ve all been up to… you can contact us at: Editorial
If you’ve got anything you think we should know about, or you think would suit SLUK and our growing army of readers get in touch.
See you all in Whitby
Moment in time
It’s good to share, so it’d be handy if you could go through your old photos. Pick a ‘Moment in time’ image and write a few words about it, include the ‘5 W’s” What it’s about, Why it’s special, Who is in it, Where and When it was. We’ll include your memory on our Vibe page but make sure it has a scooter in the photo please.
For an idea of what it’s about have a look at this recent: Moment in Time
90-second video competition
We’ve got ten fantastic Sena Prism action cameras to give away, that’s one camera each month. All you need to do is visit the link to the competition and edit your video using our ScooterLab image. It’s easy enough to do and your video can be shot on a SmartPhone, DSLR, video camera, action camera or anything else capable of giving a half decent short movie.
Use your imagination, it could be something funny that happens in the do or pub at Whitby, maybe some well edited footage from the custom show, a video as you ride across the Yorkshire Moors with a group of friends. Maybe you shot some footage a while ago, go back and have a look, it might be good enough to bag you a £200 camera this month. You’ve got to be in it to win it…
