MotoGP rider, Andrea Dovizioso has signed an agreement to be a brand ambassador for Italjet. ahead of the long-awaited launch of the new Dragster. Personally chosen by Italjet President, Massimo Tartarini, Dovi will bring some character to this iconic new machine.
New Urban Superbike?
Massimo said “When I designed the new Dragster, I imagined it as a small superbike to utilize in the city. A scooter capable of giving the feeling of a real motorcycle on the track.” Tartarini comments, “I desire that the Dragster can express all its potential and be the best in class: for this reason, I thought I have to rely on an undisputed protagonist of Motorsport, a famous pilot all over the world. I immediately thought of Andrea, a person that I’ve always admired, a professional and a man able to look beyond”.
Dovizioso commented “The Dragster is a concentrate of energy. When I saw it for the first time, I was impressed. I’m delighted to contribute with technicians to the development of parts, braking systems and the engine. The details make the difference, and the Dragster’s details are very impressive, unlike anything else in this segment”.
Dragster production is due to start in Bologna imminently and Italjet boasts they have “many thousands of pre-orders received from all over the world.” We know there are plenty of British customers waiting to get their hands on one of the very first special edition scooters. One thing is for sure, Massimo Tartarini has designed a truly iconic machine and should soon realise his dreams to get the Italian-built Dragster back with its fans, both old and new. The machine is already attracting plenty of attention, with Forbes Magazine selecting it as one of the five new scooters you must ride in 2021. It also won a ‘Best Scooter’ award at the 2021 Indonesian Motor Show.
