£120 LS2 Scope flip-front helmet | NEWS
With prices starting at just £119.99, the new LS2 Scope flip-front lid won’t exactly break the bank but it does come with a decent spec for the money and makes a good entry-level touring, or commuting helmet.
The outer shell is made from HTTP composite (certified to ECE 22.05) and comes in three sizes to give the smallest possible outline in each size (from XS-2XL). The composite material has high penetration resistance and the flexibility needed to disperse the energy produced by an impact. It’s fairly light as well, weighing in at just 1650 grams. The aerodynamic shape is designed to reduce fatigue and keep the head stable at speed, whilst a chin curtain helps to keep the wind and weather out, as well as reducing wind noise.
Visor with Pinlock
The quick-release visor system is made from 3D optically correct A-Class Polycarbonate. The aperture is wide for increased peripheral vision and there’s a Pinlock Max anti-fog visor included. Not only that but there’s also a handy drop-down internal sun visor.
Fit and liner
Inside the lid, the laser-cut EPS liner and foam cheek inserts provide a snug fit. The hypoallergenic liner is removable and washable, whilst “Dynamic Flow-through” ventilation helps to keep the rider cool. With intake ports at the chin and crown and exhaust ports to the rear – plus of course it’s a flip-front lid so the front can be lifted up.
Fastening
The Scope uses a quick-release buckle fastener, rather than D-ring.
